Monday travel inspiration: Kuang Si Falls, LAOS!
For this week’s episode, we turn to the Eastern side of the globe, visiting the Kuang Si Falls – also known as Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls – in Laos. Nestled in the wild heart of the Asian jungle, this natural beauty can be found about 29 km outside of Luang Prabang, one of the main cities of the country, and is reachable by car, bike, minivan, tuk tuk and the like.
Whilst numerous trails will lead to smaller cascades, keep walking to find yourself staring back at a majestic, three-levelled waterfall reaching an overall height of 60m, which can be admired in the photo below. A bridge built over the natural pools will also enable you to fully admire the spectacle, as well as offering the ultimate selfie spot for visual travellers.
What you won’t want to miss though is the Moon Bear Rescue Sanctuary, conveniently connected to the falls. Here, you will have the opportunity to complete the wonderful trip by visiting the famous moon bears of the region, an endangered species constantly hunted because of the healing properties in the animals’ bile.
So yeah… I can’t believe you haven’t booked a flight yet. ✈️
Have you ever visited the falls / Laos, or do you plan to now? Also, if you have any suggestions for next week’s travel inspiration, feel free to drop it in the comments below!
